The role of the Computer Center at the College of Applied Sciences - Salalah is to provide a high quality electronic functioning environment that maximizes performance, promotes academic excellence, enhances productivity, and improves the quality of research. The Center has been providing the college with an excellent and rapidly expanding infrastructure to accommodate the growing administrative and academic needs. The college computing facilities comprise of over 300 personal computers, a server room, Gigabit and Wireless Ethernet networks and an Internet connection. Network securities are managed through Firewall, IDS, Corporate Anti-virus system and other tools.

Objectives and Goals

The Computer Centre at College of Applied Sciences - Salalah has the following Objectives and Goals:

1. Offering the required computer services for students, members of the academic and administrative staff.
2. Offering the required computer services for scientific research.
3. Offering the special services to involve the computer in the administration of the faculties, centers and departments of the college.
4. Providing the chances of training on the applications and uses of the computers for people inside and outside the college.
5. Supervising and following up all the projects related with IT.
6. Supervising the developing and updating of the website of the college.
7. Establishing the intra-structure network of the college which covers the faculties and their departments.
